2026-08-12: Cowardice taken to another level
So, for all we know, Donald J. Trump was aware of a threat that the aircraft that would carry him out of Turkey recently might be blown up by Iran. As I understand things, and I am ready to stand corrected, he as the supreme commander of the US forces, which have launched an illegal war of aggression against Iran, is a legitimate target for Iran to take out.
But it appears that after he climbed the stairs to the stately aircraft with cameras rolling, he just walked across to the starboard front door and hid in a catering container, which would carry him to another aircraft that would actually carry him out.
So far, so good, it would seem. But shortly after the other aircraft left, the plane carrying the call sign “Air Force One”, which is normally used for whatever aircraft the president is on, took off. The journalists on board, as well as a good number of White House employees, were obviously not aware of either the imminent threat of attack (which, thankfully, did not materialize), nor of the fact that Trump would not actually be on board.
