2026-01-17: In case you have not noticed yet …
… should the USA be dumb enough to send some of their armed forces to occupy Greenland, this is going to turn ugly.
Because Denmark, which Greenland is a part of, will request assistance in accordance to Article 5 of the NATO treaty. Which means that the US must come to its defence and fight whatever rogue units have been attacking Greenland. Which also means that if the US isn’t forthcoming in its response to those rogue units, the US are going to lose all military bases in NATO countries, immediately.
Can you even imagine what that would mean to the US? Losing Landstuhl? Losing Ramstein? It would be devastating. And that is only two of the many facilities they would lose.
The US would cease to be a global superpower in a matter of days.
